Pre-Professional Intensive Training
The Oak Circus is calling aspiring circus and performing arts professionals for our 8-month Pre-Professional Intensive Training Course.
The Oak Circus is offering an 8-month Pre-Professional Intensive Training Course designed to prepare you for a professional career in circus or related performing arts disciplines. If you are aged 16 to 25 and have several years of experience in circus skills, gymnastics, physical theatre, or dance, this course is tailored for you.
Course Highlights:
- Comprehensive Training:
- Fitness, flexibility, handstands, and tumbling to meet professional circus school standards.
- Enhanced movement and theatrical skills for contemporary circus performance.
- Creative tools and artistic process understanding for act creation.
- Polished solo act development for auditions and performance opportunities.
- Mentorship and Support:
- Guidance for auditions at top UK professional circus schools and high-level EU foundation programs.
- Career and training advice for future pathways.
- Training Schedule:
- 8 to 10 hours per week.
- Includes tailored classes, independent training, and regular program participation.
- Graduation performance to showcase your skills.

Circus Arts
Our academy is designed to prepare students who are potentially interested in pursuing a career in contemporary circus, or simply those who can’t get enough circus and want to take their training more seriously.
Circus Academy Norfolk offers a supportive group environment encouraging young people to hone their physical literacy and develop valuable life skills such as:

With potential pathways towards a creative career, this is achieved through high quality coaching, time for independent training and peer to peer learning, individual goal setting, and creative and performance opportunities.
For students interested in a career in this sector, we can also offer targeted preparation for circus school auditions, and general career mentorship.
We also offer support to deliver Arts Award in Circus linked to their class content. Participation is by audition or invitation only, and are suitable for students with a background in circus, dance, theatre, gymnastics or martial arts. Auditions for new students are held in May/June.
